A wildfire is spreading through the Middle East. What began with an innocuous vegetable seller being bashed up in a Tunisian street, evolved into a revolution and is now questioning the authority of the leaders who till date were ruling with a firm grip over their countries.

The Jasmine Revolution swept through Tunisia and Egypt, uprooting political foundations. Now, its presence is being felt throughout the Middle East.

Protestors are being met with brute force. Libyan leader Muammar Al-Gaddafi has unleashed the bloodiest crackdown so far against pro-democracy protestors seeking his ouster. Human Rights Watch reports that 173 people have died in Libya alone.
However, every drop of blood spilt on the streets seems to be inspiring the protestors to move ahead.

Libya
Population: 6.5 million

Leader: Colonel Muammar Al Gaddafi

Ruled Since: 1969

Protest Trigger: Frustrations over corruption and incompetence in government housing schemes for poor families has spilt over into protests across the country. The biggest are taking place in Benghazi and al-Bayda, where activists have set up camps.

Protest Outcome: Protests are on amidst reports of Gaddafi's security forces reportedly gunning down at least 100 protestors.
Gaddafi's regime has also deployed artillery and helicopter gunships against the demonstrators, and thugs armed with hammers and swords attacked families with the intention of crushing the uprising.

              Algeria
Population: 34.6 million

Leader: Abdelaziz Bouteflika

Ruled Since: 1999

Protest Trigger: The success of the Egyptian and Tunisian uprisings fuelled hopes of those seeking change in Algeria. However, media reports say that although many in this conflict-scarred nation fear any prospect of violence after living through a brutal insurgency by Islamist extremists in the 1990s that left an estimated 200,000 dead.

Protest Outcome: Protests are ongoing in Algiers' central square. All roads leading to the square have been blocked and barricades have been set up to prevent protesters from entering. Some protesters still manage to get into the square, while others remain in adjacent streets. Protesters were chanting anti-regime slogans. President Bouteflika has promised to lift a 19-year state of emergency by the end of the month. The state of emergency was put in place to combat the country's two-decade-long Islamic insurgency.

Tunisia
Population: 10.6 million

Leader: Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali

Ruled Since: 1987-2011

Protest Trigger: Mohamed Bouazizi, a young educated unemployed man, set himself on fire when officials in his town prevented him from selling vegetables on the streets of Sidi Bouzid without permission.

Protest Outcome: Tunisian President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali stepped down after 23 years in power as protests over economic issues snowballed into rallies against him. A dozen protestors lost their lives.

Egypt

Population:
 80.5 million

Leader: Hosni Mubarak

Ruled Since: 1981-2011

Protest Trigger: The main drivers of the demonstrations against Mubarak were poverty, rising prices, social exclusion, anger over corruption and personal enrichment among the political elite, and a demographic bulge of young people unable to find work. But it was the outcome of the Algerian protests that acted as the catalyst.

Protest Outcome: President Mubarak resigned after nearly 30 years in power and 18 days of relentless pressure from street demonstrations.

Jordan
Population: 6.4 million

Leader: King Abdullah II

Ruled Since: 1999

Protest Trigger: Opposition groups in Jordan were objecting to economic reforms introduced by Prime Minister Samir Rifai ever since he took office in November 2009. They now have been emboldened by demonstrations in other parts of the Arab world and are calling for Rifai's resignation.

Protest Outcome: Protests are ongoing. February 18, dubbed the "Day of Rage", witnessed the largest of protests with over 5,000 protestors taking to the streets in capital Amman and several other cities.

Syria

Population: 22.2 million

Leader: Bashar Al-Assad

Ruled Since: 2000

Protest trigger: It began with a Syrian man and traffic police in the Hari'a neighbourhood in Old Damascus. According to reports and an anonymous video, the officer insulted the man who then returned the insult. When the policeman began beating him with a stick, a scuffle broke out. More police arrived at the scene, drawing the attention of passersby, which soon grew into a crowd. The crowd turned into a protest. They complained about living standards and shouted anti-corruption slogans, calling officials "thieves" and chanting, "Syrian people will not be humiliated." Rest was taken care by social networking sites

Protest Outcome: Though not on a massive scale as in neighbouring states, Global Post quoted Syrian political analyst Rime Allaf, an associate fellow at think-tank Chatham House, said the political climate in Syria appeared to be changing following the events elsewhere in the region.

Yemen
Population: 23.5 million

Leader: Ali Abdullah Saleh

Ruled Since: 1994

Protest trigger: Demonstrators have denounced what they say is systematic oppression and widespread corruption carried out by President Saleh and his administration. Despite its political unification, Yemen is one of the world's poorest nations. Even before the recent protests, the country was beset by internal conflicts involving southern secessionists, northern rebels and Al Qaeda insurgents.

Protest Outcome: Demonstrations have been gaining momentum in terms of numbers. Several people have been hurt in the weeklong clashes between pro and anti-Saleh factions despite calls by Saleh urging dialogue between his ruling party and the Opposition.

Oman
Population: 3 million

Leader: Sultan Qaboos bin Said

Ruled Since: 1970

Protest Trigger: The Oman protest is the latest in a wave across the Arab world and Middle East. Protestors are seeking from Qaboos bin Said Al Said, who inherited the post, greater freedoms and greater powers for the elected parliament.

Protest Outcome: The protests have more or less been peaceful in Oman. That's partly because Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said is revered there.

Bahrain
Population: 738,000

Leader: Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa

Ruled Since: 1999

Protest Trigger: The Shiite majority population has been asking for a democratic government in the tiny island, which is ruled by Sunni Muslim rulers. Media reports say that Bahrain's pro-democracy demonstrations represent a sectarian threat to Sunni political interests.

Protest Outcome: Bahrain's main Shia opposition group has rejected King Hamad's offer of national dialogue to end the violent unrest. At least 50 people were wounded on February 18 in capital Manama, following the funerals for four protesters killed the day before when riot police cleared out the protest camp site at Pearl Square.

Iran
Population: 76.9 million

Leader: Ayatollah Al Khamenei

Ruled Since: 1989

Protest Trigger: The killing of two people in clashes last Monday between security forces and opposition protesters in Tehran. The rallies were the largest to be held by the opposition in more than a year

Protest Outcome: Anti-government protesters gathered throughout parts of Iran on Sunday, most concentrated in the capital Tehran, to mark the deaths of the two men. Opposition Websites and witnesses said that ambulances were driven into the crowds. Security forces, including riot-control units on motorcycles, deployed tear gas to disperse crowds in several places, including near Valiasr Square and Vanak Square. Faezeh Hashemi, a well-known women's rights activist and daughter of former president Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, was arrested on Sunday for "making provocative slogans, encouraging the rioters. She was later let off

[Funny] The 25 Funniest Analogies

The e-mail says they are taken from actual high school essays and collected by English teachers across the country for their own amusement. Some of these kids may have bright futures as humor writers. What do you think?

1. He was deeply in love. When she spoke, he thought he heard bells, as if she were a garbage truck backing up.

2. His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free.

3. He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it.

4. She grew on him like she was a colony of E. Coli, and he was room-temperature Canadian beef.

5. She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh, like that sound a dog makes just before it throws up.

6. Her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever.

7. He was as tall as a six-foot, three-inch tree.

8. The revelation that his marriage of 30 years had disintegrated because of his wife’s infidelity came as a rude shock, like a surcharge at a formerly surcharge-free ATM machine.

9. The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t.

10. McBride fell 12 stories, hitting the pavement like a Hefty bag filled with vegetable soup.

11. From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30.

12. Her hair glistened in the rain like a nose hair after a sneeze.

13. The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot grease.

14. Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph.

15. They lived in a typical suburban neighborhood with picket fences that resembled Nancy Kerrigan’s teeth.

16. John and Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who had also never met.

17. He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant, and she was the East River.

18. Even in his last years, Granddad had a mind like a steel trap, only one that had been left out so long it had rusted shut.

19. Shots rang out, as shots are wont to do.

20. The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work.

21. The young fighter had a hungry look, the kind you get from not eating for a while.

22. He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck, either, but a real duck that was actually lame, maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

23. The ballerina rose gracefully en Pointe and extended one slender leg behind her, like a dog at a fire hydrant.

24. It was an American tradition, like fathers chasing kids around with power tools.

The truth behind Rohan Rathore: [song] Emptiness!! (Lonely) Rohan Rathore IIT Guwahati [tune mere jana kabhi nahi jana ishq mera dard mera..] (Lyrics and Chords) [another song like emptiness], music of emptiness is copied one

Rohan Rathore was a student from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwhati, India. He had terminal cancer.
He wrote and sung a song 'Emptiness' for Supriya - a girl he loved more than anything and anyone in the world. Unfortunately, she didn't return his love. He sang about his hurt and longing, and even though they don't end up together, this song was something he felt he had to do. He died just 15 days after recording the song. Truly a very painful love story.

You might have heard his song already in Facebook, which is one of highest shared/liked video of 2010
I hope you read the last part of this post-----------------
Go to the end of the page-------------------

Below is his song :

Oh love of mine, with a song and a whine,
You're harsh and divine like truths and a lie.
But the tale ends not here
I have nothing to fear
for my love is a yell of forgiving and hold on.

In the bright emptiness, in a room full of it,
is a cruel mistress - my heart!
I feel this unrest, that nests all hollowness,
for I have nowhere to go and I'm cold.

And I feel so lonely yeah...
There's a better place than this: emptiness.
And I'm so lonely yeah...
There's a better place than this: emptiness yeah...

Aa.. aa.. aa...

Tune mere jaana.., kabhi nahin jaana..,
Ishq mera, dard mera.. haaye..
Tune mere jaana, kabhi nahin jaana,
Ishq mera, dard mera

Aashiq tera...
Bheed mein khoya rehta hai...
Jaane jahaan....
Poocho toh itna kehta hai -

That I feel so lonely yeah...
There's a better place than this: emptiness...
And I'm so lonely yeah...
There's a better place than this: emptiness yeah... ya..

Aa.. aa.. aa...

/*English Translation of the Hindi Section of the Song*/

Tune mere jaana, kabhi nahin jaana, (You, my love, have never ever realized)
Ishq mera, dard mera (my love, my pain)
Tune mere jaana, kabhi nahin jaana, (You, my love, have never ever realized)
Ishq mera, dard mera (my love, my pain)

Aashiq tera... (Your lover)
Bheed mein khoya rehta hai... (remains lost in the crowd)
Jaane jahaan....  (My dear love, wherever ...)
Poocho toh itna kehta hai - (... asked, he just says ...)

That I feel so lonely yeah...
There's a better place than this: emptiness.
And I'm so lonely yeah...
There's a better place than this: emptiness yeah...

Really sad right ? The song is so awesome. Runs though our veins with feeling of Love. Emptiness, describes, the void left in his loving heart by his girl. Pretty sad story if you ask me. The guy now loved and remembered everyday by millions over Facebook and Twitter, is no more. Sad. I sob.
Hey wait ! Did you really believed what I wrote  above, like other million people in Facebook ? [Okay, not to be rude, word stupid is missing]. Well, it’s a pretty bollywood story if you ask me :P or excerpt of Chetan Bhagat’s next filmie novel
;)
At first I believed for the first time when I heard the song and read about him in Youtube and FB page. But, second thing I did was, which you never do, searching over Google for truth. For my utter surprise none of the Ex-Guwahati IITians mentioned him. I digged more and found out it’s fake.

Yes, it was the insensitive and cheap trick for marketing their song. But, they did it in right way.

1.What first comes to your mind when you hear the song and read about him ?  LOVE, CANCER, IIT-G. We Indians, simply have inevitable attraction towards Love stories. Add some prestigious college name and make it sad story, Game Over.

2.They believed in their song and it is pretty good too, but too reach masses, they used nice [read : cheap] marketing trick.

3. Simple, just create a fake girl’s profile over Facebook [and Twitter] and share it, it is enough to reach thousands in one day. And don’t forget to add, “Oh, I liked this song like anything guys, what ya say ?”

When you ask Mr.Vivek aka MrVivekchocoboy, the original uploader of the video, tells you same lame story. He also requests you ‘Like’ the song and share it over the FB and Twitter. Now I see a new video on his profile, hope he doesn’t ask us to ‘share’ that one also over FB, coming up with just another pathetic but sad story. Goodluck Mr.Chocoboy.

IIT-G students clarified that, person with such name never existed nor his poor sad story. If it was really true, I’d have first seen it in Headlines Today or any national news paper. The song is too good enough to be appeared in national news channels and papers.

Now here are some proofs :-------------

Now Aseem Ahmed Abbasee claims that he is the original lyricist and english lyrics where written by Moonami Roy.

Now here is the BIG QUESTION : Are Aseem Ahmed Abbasee and Gajender Verma are behind this Rohan Rathore story ? Why they don’t want sue Mr.Chocoboy who uploaded the song to Youtube ? Truth yet to come.

So guys finally it's a fake story. Do not fall for available rumors on internet.

If you want to scold me, please go ahead, i would definitely try to resolve your doubts................

@avin.......thanks for the data......

Music of EMPTINESS found copied:--------------

Its been a while on this post, I have found some thing new this time.
Yesterday i was surfing net for one of my favorite movie "Into The Wild". And you know what i found there.....excellent.....super.....
i was listening to the song composed by Mr. MICHAEL BROOK, and there i found, guess what.................
The most loved song "Emptiness" is not having even his own music. it has been copied from the song MICHAEL BROOK-BEST UNSAID INTO THE WILD.

Here is a youtube clip of michael Brook-Best Unsaid Into The Wild.

and here is his SONG info @ http://michaelbrookmusic.com/into-the-wild.......................

Another song by same singer:----------

And here is another song of the same singer(so called Rohan Rathore)
Check this out:- www.reverbnation.com/

After listening this song i should have put you in very good condition to make it out  whether they should really get this much publicity. I don't think so. I don't think the song named as Kashmir's Voice is good enough to get some beats.

WAIT FOR MY NEXT POST........................................./

bollywood shiela: hamara style

I know you want it
But you never gonna get it
Tere haath kabhi na aani
Maane na maane koi duniya
Yeh saari, mere ishq ki hai deewani

Hey hey, I know you want it
but you never gonna get it
Tere haath kabhi na aani
Maane na maane koi duniya
yeh saari Mere ishq ki hai deewani
Ab dil karta hai haule haule se
Main toh khud ko gale lagaun
Kisi aur ki mujhko zaroorat kya
Main toh khud se pyaar jataun

what's my name
what's my name
what's my name
My name is Sheela
Sheela ki jawani
I'm just sexy for you
Main tere haath na aani
Na na na sheela
Sheela ki jawani
I'm just sexy for you
Main tere haath na aani

Take it on
Take it on
Take it on
Take it on

Silly silly silly silly boys
O o o you're so silly
Mujhe bolo bolo karte hain
O o oHaan jab unki taraf dekhun,
baatein haule haule karte hain
Hai magar, beasar mujh par har paintra

Haye re aise tarse humko
Ho gaye sober se re
Sookhey dil pe megapan ke
teri nazariya barse re
I know you want it
but you never gonna get it
Tere haath kabhi na aani
SheelaSheela ki jawani
I'm just sexy for you
Main tere haath na aani
Na na na sheela
Sheela ki jawani
I'm just sexy for you
Main tere haath na aani

Residency Road (looking towards UB City)

Children of Bangalore

The Tale of Two Peaks.

Doddabettahalli and Chickabettahalli are two small villages on the newly named Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan Road (his parents live down the road towards Yelahanka) that connects Jalahalli and Yelahanka New Town. Doddabettahalli's claim to fame is its elevation. The Betta at 962 meters is officially the highest place in the Benglur region. A short walk to the south-west of Doddabettahalli is Chickabettahalli, named after the smaller of the rocky hills.

However, these two spots are no longer the highest places in the city. Doddabetta and Chickabetta have disappeared. The twin peaks have been dynamited and cut into boulders, slabs and jelly to provide the foundation of the houses we live in. You can go to Google Earth and measure the current elevation of the place. It's now lower than the spot behind the Kempegowda Tower at Mekhri Circle.

If you want to visit this place, you can take Route 401 from Yehahanka or Yeshwantpur and get off at the Jelly Machine Bus Stop. You can't miss the quarry.

In Benglur, when children lose their milk teeth, they throw the teeth on the roof of the house. A couple of decades back, the tooth would have been embedded in a tiny ball made from cow dung and thrown.
